Where to buy a Kindle in Canada?
The Canada Kindle is an electronic book reader (EBook) or portable device that can store and read digital books. Created by virtual store Amazon, it was released commercially in late 2007.
There are currently four devices:
* Kindle 1
* Kindle 2 U.S.
* Kindle 3 International (available in Canada) New 2010 model
* Kindle DX (available in Canada) New 2010 model
Kindle has an electronic e ink display of 800×600 pixels and 8 grayscale levels. The device connects wirelessly to an Amazon owned network calle Whispernet running through the wireless network (Sprint in the U.S., 3G networks and EDGE / GPRS in the world) to download content.
From October 19th of 2009 Amazon began shipping Kindle 2 international ereader to users outside the United States, including of course Canada. These users may use the Wispernet network anywhere in the world where mobile coverage is available.
The price of the Kindle 3 is $189.00 UDS for the U.S. version and international version. Each ebook title costs approximately $ 10 U.S. dollars and covers wireless transmission.
The Kindle 3 supports PDF natively; in addition Amazon provides a conversion service via e-mail to use documents in doc, txt and html formats. The process involves sending the document by e-mail to Amazon, who then then makes a kindle-friendly version and sends them through the mobile network to the Kindle ereader.
The Kindle reader allows free access to Wikipedia from the user’s country of residence.
